Now THIS Is How You Celebrate A Game's Anniversary

It's been really disappointing in the last few years watching companies like Nintendo do so little to really commemorate significant anniversaries in the life of beloved game franchises. Mario got a tiny little extras disc while Zelda got even less.

Capcom, though, seem to know what long-time fans are looking for with their anniversaries, that being large, expensive commemorative editions of games. In this case, for the 25th anniversary of Street Fighter (remember, there was a Street Fighter 1!)

For $US150, you'll be able to pick up this giant box set that includes (deep breath):

-Street Fighter X Tekken (including all character and Swap Costume DLC)

-Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition (with all costume DLC)

-Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix

-Street Fighter III: Third Strike Online Edition

-New documentary Blu-ray that highlights the lifelong love affair fans have had with Street Fighter, and how their dedication has affected the game.

-Street Fighter IV, Super SFIV anime movies

-All episodes of the Street Fighter animated series (DELICIOUS!)

-Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie

Light-up Ryu statue

-Brand new statue with light up base. Eight inches tall and frozen in mid Shoryuken.

11 disc soundtrack

-Game music from the past 25 years, including remixes and fan-created music.

64 page hardcover art book

-Containing pieces from fans all over the world.

Ryu's belt

-Full size martial arts black belt for the aspiring World Warrior. Includes Ryu's "Furinkazan" in kanji.

Certificate of Authenticity

-Like any good collector's set, this comes with a lovely piece of paper telling you how limited and special it is. They're all individually numbered, so get one before they disappear!

Phew. It'll be out in September.

Say what you will about some of Capcom's other business decisions of late, for fans this is a pretty sweet deal.

Can they do metroids? Yes i know it was last year

I disagree. All the movies and extras are nice, but where are all the games? No alpha series, no EX series, no gem fighters. And it doesn't even contain the game which anniversary it is celebrating!

i agree with you ... over 25 years of awesome SF games and this is all they can dish up? for a 25th anniversary edition, I would expect a few more games and please remove the tekken game ... i love street fighter, but i would rather play through the history of all their games in this series no matter what version ...

agreed, only 4 games? And 4 of the recent games? You'd think SF fans would have these 4 recent games? What happened to Alpha, Gem,Street verse Xmen, classic SF 1. Why not put all those games in 1 special CD even? I have all the games in this collection plus all the F** movies, tv series. Capcom keep rehashing the SF anniversary but they never provide anything worthwhile. An arcade stick, or some SF merchandise such as tshirt, beanie, hat, Ryu's famous headband.

That's actually really cool, I'm surprised Capcom, and a little confused. If only I was a big Street Fighter fan, seriously something like this for Zelda would have had me frothing, I want commemorative light up Link dammit.

This might be the FIRST collectors edition I buy.

"-Street Fighter X Tekken (including all
    character and Swap Costume DLC)"

But the DLC was already included...

Whatever you say, US$150 for two relatively new games + limited edition stuff makes this a steal. Just wondering what platform the games will be on, and how do I sign up?

Finally a company actually releases an worthwhile, quality fan product that doesnt cost a bomb. Bravo Capcom, bravo.

Honestly you'd think there would be a Joystick in there.

That is an insane collection I was it so bad! I already have the SF II: The Animated Movie and Series but it's worth it just for the collection of games, let alone all the other cool crap!

11 disc soundtrack with fan remixes.......biggest load of crap, got to be one of the biggest wanks seen in a collection edition. Replace those 11 discs with another version of the game on 1 disc...

    No shipping to Aus :(

    Where's SF Alpha 1,2,3?
    Where's SF 2010?
    Where's SF III W Impact?
    Where's SF EX 1,2,3?
Where's SF The Movie: The Game?
    Where's SF 1?

How the fuck is this supossed to be an Anniversary Collection if it doesn't include all those above games?!

I too would like alpha 3, but I think it's still a good collection.

no SF the movie that was an awesome mov......... oh wait a minute

Awesome read Luke, thank you for bringing this to my attention :)

Now how do we go about ordering said bundle of awesomeness?

I'm torn because it's ridiculously good value for money.... but being the SF fan that I am. I already own all that recent stuff. I would be more interested in getting all the old stuff as well. Hell I'd even pay $200 if it came with a fight stick :)

It looks awesome but considering I just bought those games in the past 12 months I can't justify the purchase but if I hadn't, I'd be all over it.
