NSFW: These Video Game Shootings Might Gross You Out A Little

The recently-released Sniper Elite V2 is, for want of a more in-depth review, a pretty lacklustre third-person stealth/action game punctuated by moments of extreme excitement.

Those are the times you actually get to do some proper sniping. And, as you can see in this video (be sure to click the "HD" button first to see it as nature intended), they're also some of the most excruciatingly uncomfortable killings you've ever seen in a game so otherwise serious in tone.

They're so extreme, so celebrated (that's real-time damage being shown, not a cutscene) that they can, as they did for me, quickly turn comedic. Which probably makes it even worse. Unless that doesn't bother you, in which case, this might well be the game for you.

WARNING: This is pretty graphic stuff. Don't watch if you're at work or there are kids around.

I must be REALL desensitised, this wasn't that bad.

My kindergarten students loved this video.

The multiplayer is excellent, games are slow, but more suspenseful as you try outflank and out-snipe your enemy, im loving it.

Just from this video, the whole 'mechanics' you could say seem unrealistic. It looks like the enemy pretty much shot at the player straight away, I have no idea how they would have located him so quickly. And the more serious point, why would they try to shoot him when he's in cover and at a higher vantage point? For a game that uses wind and shooting ballistics to make the game more realistic, the whole AI seem pretty stupid.

Not playing on the hardest difficulty for the lose. Like playing a driving simulator with all the driving aids on, you lose the complete authenticity of the experience.

I hate that I can buy this game, but not Mortal Kombat :\

what kind of work is this not safe for?

At face value the game tries to be a serious sniping sim, but just the way the prologue plays out as a rather forced tutorial level, sets the scene of this very linear game.

The problems I have with it are the AI is easily exploited, The level design (something more sandbox would have been much better) and the checkpoint system, I was being chased by soldiers and reached a checkpoint, the enemy tailing me just disappeared.

I was eager for this game, got my hands on it and then disappointment set in.

I was hoping for an open sniping sim, that they promised it to be.
