Solving A 5×5 Rubik’s Cube In Under 7 Minutes Isn’t Impressive, Unless You’re Blindfolded

Demonstrating the memorisation and motor skills of some sort of humanoid robot, Hungary’s Marcell Endrey spends three and a half minutes getting to know a scrambled 5×5 Rubik’s Cube, slips on a blindfold, and solves it in just over four minutes.

Not only did Endrey break the world speed record for solving a scrambled 5×5 without eyes at the Zune Open 2012 World Cube Association event, he also took home top honours in the 4×4 and 3×3 multi blindfolded event. He’s some sort of machine specifically designed to do this sort of thing. His skills might not have many practical applications, but in the luxurious world of Rubik’s competition (I mean look at that dingy hotel room!), he is a god.
