Sony Site Reveals New Mass Effect 3 DLC

While there were whispers of this earlier in the month, Sony's Hong Kong website has now officially lifted the lid on a new piece of Mass Effect 3 DLC.

Sadly, it's not the singleplayer "extended ending" DLC most players are hanging out for. Instead, it's a new multiplayer pack called "Rebellion".

The Rebellion Multiplayer Expansion opens two new fronts against the Reapers: Firebase Jade's jungle reservoir and Firebase Goddess on Thessia. In-game reinforcement packs now include three new weapons as well as equipment, consumables, and six new classes: Quarian Engineer and Infiltrator, Vorcha Soldier and Sentinel, Phoenix Adept and Vanguard. The battle continues — hold the line!

The site says it's out today, at least in Asia.

Mass Effect™ 3: Rebellion Multiplayer Expansion (English Ver.) [PlayStation]

    A few things:

    - It's assumed that the Quarian Engineer and Infiltrator are MALE versions - there's already the female versions in game.
    - Also, the Phoenix classes are assumed to be Prothean (ie. From Ashes).

There's reason to believe the Phoenix classes may be Cerberus related, the latest event weekend made mention of Cerberus defectors, Vorcha and technically skilled personnel (Quarians presumably). They made similar hints prior to introducing the Justicaar and the Batarians. The original post for the weekend is here:

I was thinking that, but considering there's already 12 humans in MP, I doubt they'd add more.

Seems the site linked in the article has been taken down.
Was there a price mentioned, or is this like the Resurgence pack & free?

Either way, I'll look into getting this when I've clicked through D3.

      patience sir / madam.
from what i understand, theres two teams that worked on ME3 - one on single, the other on MP. & now the SP team are working on some unscheduled content (ie the extended ending DLC), they've had to postpone the release of the planned SP content. But the team working on the MP DLC is able to go as planned.

so yeah, SP DLC would be great, but the MP stuff will keep me going til it arrives.

From my understanding its Bioware Edmonton which handled the singleplayer, and Bioware Montreal which handled multiplayer

Cool, hope the new maps are fun to play. Didn't think they'd ever put in a Prothean for multi though considering the multi is supposed to tie into the single player canon and Javik is the lone survivor of his race.

maybe there is another unknown storage facility and they discovered it after killing all the banshee's!!!

but yeah agreed, though more characters the better, once you unlock them. maybe i can have a kickass krogen female next time!

And the end of your insignificant rebellion...

Well even if we assume 'Phoenix' are Prothean characters, I'm more surprised by the inclusion of Vorcha. I guess I shouldn't be, it's less of a shock than Batarians joining the cause, but that's interesting nonetheless.

it was mentioned in the silencer outline. they needed training by top personnel before joining the fight

i really wish each pack in MP contained medi-gel. you get one poor match and you go through a lot of them (depending on your upgrades). there are times when i have bought packs 2-3 at a time (veteran) and got no medi-gel. i know its supposed to be random and 'fun' because of it but its just annoying!. i don't like going into silver or higher with no medi-gel. its a burden on me and the other players.
fix this as well as adding this extra content and then i will be suppa-duppa happy!

    Fuck multiplayer

fuck yeah. sick of games with Multiple player. I want to know if the indoctrination theory is true or not

In any case I pirated ME1, ME2, ME3. I'm waiting another year or so when they bring out a Gold edition with all of the DLC and all of the games in one pack for a nice $24.95. Then i'll replay the entire series again.

Which reminds of the whitcher 2 pack. fricken awesome - $24.95 and comes with everything i.e. 9 DLCs that would have costed $150 plus new.

Indoctrination theory = desperation in my opinion. I don't think Bioware were clever enough to deliberately construct this sort of ending. Then again, I could be wrong - but if is true, it was still rather poorly executed. Time will tell - but at the end of the day, no matter what is released - there will be rage and unhappiness.
