What Do You Want To Be When You Grow Up?

Sometimes we do things that aren’t video games. Like eat food, moonwalk, go to Woolworths in our underwear (just me? I’ll leave quietly). I thought it might be cool to have a place to discuss such endeavours. Today I want to ask your eight-year-old self a question: what do you want to be when you grow up?

When I was a kid, I wanted to be one of two things: a football player or a pirate. Not the downloading-software-illegally kind, but the old-school, wearing-an-eye-patch kind. When I was young, I used to play Monkey Island a lot.

I was never quite good enough to be a professional footballer, and piracy just... wasn't a realistic option.

What about you guys? What did you want to be when you were a kid?

    Water Slide Tester.

I figure with all the water parks out there, someone's got to test them. I like to think that there's a small cabal of elite water sliders that fly around the world making sure new slides kick arse.

That has been my dream, my driving force, for at least the last few years. One day...

I can just see someone sliding down with a waterproof clip board and pen.lol

Ha! It'd be gags if it was actually a really shitty job with way too much paper work.

I really wanted to be an archaeologist.

I'm going to be the fastest drummer ever. Getting there, slowly.

I wanted to be a WWF wrestler.

[eight year old Kermi]I want to be a lawyer because they make lots of money, plus I'm really good at arguing.[/eight year old Kermi]

Wanted to work in the media. I now do once a week on my day off from my work that pays the rent and any other time I can weasel my way into the newsroom but Im hungry for more........ Need a new freelancer?

    Paleontologists, marine biologist, archaeologist

Somehow ended up in IT, so there you go

Games. writer in the teens, author in the pre-teens
Twenties is back to games writer.

Nothing. I don't recall ever having any such aspirations.

I guess I still don't really know. I'd just like to be somewhere where I get to make something. Be it making games (what I am now studying to do), making costumes, making... stuff. Anything.

Paleontologist or Archaeologist, or Indiana Jones... same thing really.
