Community Kudos

Long weekend Community Kudos! Hurray!

Alright, this is speed Kudos, because Ben challenged me to duel at Trials Evolution and his ass is about to get beat. Then we’ll play Trials Evolution. #oldmanserrelsjokes

First I want to re-alert everyone to this: Potaku. I can’t believe that our community is so strong, and so widespread that we can actually support a community driven podcast. I want to give my own personal kudos to both Shiggy and Jamie Watt in particular, but also everyone who has been involved at some level. Man you guys are awesome.

Also, here is the podcast. I have embedded it because I love you and I want you to be able to access the dulcet Scottish tones of Jamie Watt. And light, frantic jibberish of ShiggyNinty.

Potaku Episode 1 by Doc_What

Boom!

Alright — to the Kudos machine.

It was a sporadic nom-week. Noms for many different folks from many different folks.

Virus was first of the mark with nomination for Kermitron — for giving Virus Bastion. I like Kermi, I know him in real life and he is a real sweet gent.

Shane, another sweet gent, dropped in some noms for Strange. Noms for Strange are usually for her ability to articulate the entire community’s feelings on a topic in a really well-put concise manner, and this nom is no different.

Shane also nommed sporadic TAY poster beavwa for sending him a cool Dark Souls thing. Apparently beavwa’s wife has demanded he throw out some of his stuff!

Welbot’s nom was for Trjn. Apparently it was for an insult! He called someone the “vodafone of people”. Even without context I can totally see why that was funny!

It was Blaghman’s birthday! WADDUP BLAGHMAN HAPPY BURRRDAY! He nominated Cakesmith, Rocketpony, and Ynefel for being “completely radical” and gifting him Steam games!

Then there was a nom for Masha — who is an awesome dancer. This nom was not for his Dance Central skills, it was for his awesome commenting on E3 stories throughout the week. Said nom was from Cakesmith.

Greenius nominated Novacascade “a.k.a. Novahkiin Last of the Driverborn” (what does that EVEN MEAN GREENIUS!). This nom was for giving away DS games. WHADDAGUY!

Scree also nominated Nova, in an email that would rival Effluvium Boy in its curtness.

Hi Mark.

I nominate Nova.

Scree

YAY!

Shiggy accidentally his caps lock. Yes, that’s what I said, he accidentally his caps lock.

KUDOS NUMBER 1 TO DOC WHAT. HE MY MAIN MAN BOYYYYY. HE HELPS OUT GREATLY ON POTAKU

KUDOS SECOND TO THE WHOLE COMMUNITY FOR BEING GREAT. THAT DUDES ARE SWELL

AWESOMO POWER!

Then I got a nom from Strange!

I want to nominate NovaCascade for Kudos for giving away a bunch of awesome DS games. Honourable mentions to “J” in the Booth Babe article for level-headed well-reasoned arguments, and Ben White for being the most prompt website support answerer ever.

And then one from the CAKE CRAZY BISH.

NOMNOMNOMS:
– Strange: For being a wonderful beacon of light and anti-cynism in a week of E3 madness. Also for making points on general issues throughout the week inside and outside of TAY (One of which being about E3 Booth Babes:
http://www.kotaku.com.au/2012/06/e3-makes-me-really-appreciate-the-pax-ban-on-booth-babes/)
– And on that topic, that J person from the same article? What a champ. Well articulated arguments and keeping on the topic. I don’t know why they are on the internet, I heard these types of people went extinct.

Cakesmith also dropped some bomb-ass noms for Shiggy Ninty and Jamie Watt for Potaku.

So, wow. I think this is record time for me writing a Community Kudos post. I’m pretty proud of myself. I’ve spent most of my time trying to think who should win!

Look — Shiggy won last week for his stupid, stupid cooking, so I’m going to give it to Dr What — for his work on the Potaku Podcast! I just think it’s an awesome community initiative, and it’s a cool thing for us to all listen to.

So congrats Dr What! You are the winner of this week’s Community Kudos!

Have a great long weekend everyone!
