EA Weighs In On Activision Settlement In Delightfully Catty Fashion

Not one to sit on the sidelines of a good fight, EA has issued a wonderfully catty, short statement regarding the just-resolved lawsuit between Modern Warfare makers Jason West and Vince Zampella and EA’s rival Activision.

In an email to Kotaku, an EA spokesperson relayed the following:

“Activision’s refusal to pay their talent and attempt to blame EA were absurd. This settlement is a vindication of Vince and Jason, and the right of creative artists to collect the rewards due for their hard work.”

Saucer of milk, table five! Rowr.

  • EA is still in massive damage control? I thought EA would have realised they’ve already lost a lot of market share due to their bullshit, but nope, they still think they’re the good guys. I wonder if EA’s world is as warped as some of our political leaders. =P

    • You’re deluded if you think EA has a bad name outside of the few thousand people immersed in gaming culture. Millions of people buy millions of games without giving a rats nut-sack over the logo on the box. A vast, vast majority of games are purchased by people who aren’t gaming enthusiasts.

  • The best part of this article is the picture.
Publisher catfights are tiresome. It’s no wonder gamers dislike them.

  • I’m not a fan of Call of Duty series but. We need to learn more about this because they were also fighting for Call of Duty as well. Do Respawn now own CoD, does every single CoD release have to be approved by the creators? Do they still get paid for each Call of Duty release? etc etc etc.

I’m interested in this because of the amount of money that it makes for Activision and I would love to see CoD just stop because Activision has to re-think the whole thing like new tech, new name (maybe) etc etc.

    • Nope. There is no way Activision would have given west and zampella any control over the Call of Duty franchise.

More so given that they will most likely now be in direct competition with Call of Duty.

Activision probably said right we’ll pay you what we owe you and then some. If you go away for good.

  • Meanwhile, Valve is banging their heads on the desk going “YOU’RE ALL DOING IT WRONG” -_-
