Halfbrick’s Jetpack Joyride Wins Best iOS App At Apple’s Design Awards

I remember the first time I saw Jetpack Joyride, almost 15 months ago at GDC 2011. Back then I thought it was magic, and when it was released I spent many train journeys guiding Barry Steakfries and his five-o-clock shadow past all manner of swirly obstacles. It’s kind of gratifying to see great games get awards, particularly when they’re developed in Australia, and particularly when they deserve it.

At the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference, Apple typically has an annual Design Awards conference, where Apple rewards developers who create well put together software.

Jetpack Joyride was amongst those winners, taking out Best iOS App, alongside National Geographics National Park App. On the Mac, Limbo and Deus Ex: Human Revolution were amongst the winners as well.

Congratulations to all the guys at Halfbrick!
