Medal Of Honor: Warfighter Is Releasing A "Military-Only" Edition

Active, reserve, and retired members of the U.S. armed forces (and government employees) can buy a "Military Edition" of Medal of Honor: Warfighter when the game releases in October, Electronic Arts said today.

A news release announcing the "Military Edition" said it would be available exclusively through GovX — "a privileged e-commerce Web site where qualified members of the U.S. Armed Forces and those in related government agencies can shop for premium off-duty apparel, equipment and other products as well as on–duty tactical products."

To shop at GovX, one typically registers with his or her active .gov or .mil email identity, or supplies other verification of duty/retired status in the armed forces, Department of defence, or other military, federal, local or state law enforcement agency.

The "Military Edition" is part of the newly created "Project Honor" fundraising program for the U.S. military's Special Operations Community. Project honour is a charity for families and soldiers in special operations, designed to raise awareness of that mission and to support those whose loved ones have died or have been wounded in service to it.

The "Military Edition" of Medal of honour Warfighter" includes all the content of the game's Limited Edition release, plus unnamed "exclusive in-game unlocks" that include a special Project honour camouflage skin. For more information, see this page on GovX.

"We have a tremendous amount of respect for our service men and women around the world and a deep level of gratitude for the sacrifices both they and their families make on a daily basis," Greg Goodrich, Medal of Honor's executive producer, said in a statement. "We've teamed up with some of the biggest military brands to deliver an authentic experience in Medal of honour Warfighter. We're excited to work with these great partners to also launch Project honour to raise awareness for the Navy SEAL Foundation and the Special Operations Warrior Foundation and drive real world contributions of which we can be proud."

A web site for Project honour has been established; you may visit it here for more information on its mission.

I forgot america was the only country in the world with a military.

You mean there are other COUNTRIES?!?!

Still, gotta respect the idea. Good on em

This is gonna tank just like the last MOH,bring back the Nazis.

Actually the last one far from tanked. Did out sell COD? obviously not, but it did sell a significant amount. Was it any good? Meh it was OK, not every movie has to be Alien or Citizen Kaine for me to enjoy it.

My first thoughts was that this goodwill is because of American military boycott of their last MOH.

Won't be buying this until it's in the bargain bin, last one was a joke.

Surely if it's part of a fund-raising program for US military families, they should allow purchases from people outside that group? Fund-raising tends to work a lot better when it's not only getting money from a very specific minority... Wouldn't it have been a better effort to donate a set percentage of the proceeds of all editions?

This won't get leaked onto the net AT ALL.

    It's only some DLC.

Yeah where are the ADF versions, I would like to pick up a special edition to help out.

So its an exclusive DLC preorder incentive, but instead of being available from Gamestop its available from the military.

I thought at first it'd be a hyper realistic simulator version, but I suppose that's too much to ask.
