The Last Guardian Will Come Out When It's Damn Good And Ready

While many wonder where the hell The Last Guardian is, Sony has this to offer: it will be out when its ready.

Sony's Scott Rohde told website GameSpot, "I will not give you a detailed update, but I will say one thing. It goes back in my mind to innovation and to gamers and to quality. That title is going to ship when it is absolutely ready."

This sounds sort of detailed...

"And I think that's a really important thing to remember, that it would be very easy to ship a game when it's not quite ready because we need to meet a business plan. Gamers are first. And the experience that we provide is first. And that's why we're going to talk about that game when we're ready to talk about it."

In the meanwhile getting ready to talk about it, you can put out a new trailer or a demo. Gamers are first, right?

I would rather everyone who's not working on it to shut the f*ck up about it. Contrary to popular belief most gamers don't have the slightest clue about what they want. If they put the game out and it's not ready, then you're gonna be even more pissed off than you are now. I'd rather them work on it for the rest of eternity if that's what it takes. As long as it meets its goals.

Last Guardian isn't one of those games where the expectation can surpass its vision, because nobody knows anything about it. It's not a sequel, it's not a spin off. It's a unique game that obviously has high thematic ambitions, and is trying to have its gameplay sections meet them halfway. Putting out a trailer would directly contradict the idea of not talking about it before its ready.

They've had many opportunities to cancel this thing and it hasn't happened, so obviously they see something worth dedicating extra resources to. So exercise a little self control, there are other games out.

Yes, how DARE these gamers speculate on a game what was supposed to be out a year ago.

I wonder how many people have actually died that have waited to play this

My PS3 died, waiting to play this. 8(

So they're pulling the old Duke Nukem line of "It will be done when its done"

C'mon, its about a kid playing with his dragon/dog/pet/thing. Thats about one hour of gameplay there.
They have to stretch this shit out for 10 hours. Thats a lot of creative padding.

Yeah, and ICO was just a kid with horns, leading a waif-like girl around a castle.
Shadow of the Colossus was just a guy hunting down giant things.

This is Fumito Ueda we're talking about here. Normal rules do not apply.

Good. Don't want another flagship product ruined because Sony forced it out for a schedule.. for example, Gran Turismo 5.. what a feck up!

Screw last guardian, wheres the Vita games Sony?

Why even announce the game when its years from seeing the light of day? Seriously I'm sick of it. They announce a game, then after 3-4 years when gamers ask "where the hell is it?" they get all uptight and cranky about it. Seriously? Keep it in your pants until you're ready to blow your load.

@Warcroft. These are the same guys who created the masterpieces that are Shadow of the Colossus & Ico. Stop trolling and grow up. Almost nothing about the game is yet known, so how the hell would YOU know that there's nothing more to the game? You wouldn't, so put a sock in it.

wow, couldnt pick the tongue in cheek nature of my post?

Didn't Ueda and another lead designer leave Sony a while back?
I highly doubt the team working on it has any idea what they're doing and if/when it does come out it'll probably have guns an cameos from Ratchet and/or Clank.
