The Many Games Of E3 2012 That We Can’t Play Until 2013

The good news is, we saw a lot of really good-looking games at E3 this year. Some we’ve known about for a while; others were surprises that leaped out at us, making us want more.

The bad news? A huge number of them, like so many other games we’ve heard news about this year, are slated for release in 2013. And not necessarily early in 2013, either. We may see some of the best at next year’s E3 before we hear a firm release date. So what games, from E3 2012, are waiting until 2013 to leap into our living rooms?

  • Aliens: Colonial Marines
  • Arma 3
  • Ascend: New Gods
  • Beyond: Two Souls
  • Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2
  • Company of Heroes 2
  • Crysis 3
  • Dead Space 3
  • Devil May Cry
  • Divinity: Original Sin
  • Gears of War: Judgment
  • God of War: Ascension
  • Injustice
  • Lost Planet 3
  • Metro: Last Light
  • Ni No Kuni
  • SimCity
  • South Park: The Stick of Truth
  • Splinter Cell: Blacklist
  • Star Trek
  • Star Wars 1313
  • The Elder Scrolls Online
  • The Last of Us
  • Tomb Raider
  • Watch Dogs

There’s also the tricky business of all the Wii U games. We’re expecting the console to launch at the end of this year, but Nintendo still hasn’t announced an official date. That means all of the games listed as “launch” or “holiday” could clear 2012 or may potentially hit in 2013 — we really don’t know. Among those games, we have:

  • Lego City Undercover
  • New Super Mario Brothers U
  • Nintendo Land
  • Pikmin 3
  • Project P-100
  • Rayman Legends
  • ZombiU

Between these games from E3, and many other 2012 releases that have had delays, all I know is that 2013’s looking really busy. And that I only have one birthday in it to be given games on. A mismatch indeed.
