A Guy's Mother Previews 2012's Biggest Video Games

You've probably got a very idea of what to expect from 2012's biggest games. You see the trailers, you see the gameplay and you figure, yeah, I can get into this.

But could your mother?

GamesBeat writer Mike Minotti sat down with his mum and showed her some big trailers for some big games, like Assassin's Creed III, Black Ops II and Halo 4 (well, the trailer for Halo 4's live-action series.)

Sadly, he didn't film it, but he did record it and write it all down, and it's pretty fun reading.

Alright, this one is for Call of Duty: Black Ops II.

[Sarcastically] Oh, this sounds good. Is it like the other Call of Duties?

Oh, I'm not going to like this.

What do you know about Call of Duty?

You kill people! No wonder our country's gone to pot.

This kind of reminds me of when I gave my mum a mouse and keyboard, and plugged Portal into the living room TV. We played portal in hourish segments on Sundays for about a month. What mostly impressed me is how she went from sliding around the walls because she had never used WASD and a mouse before to playing exactly the same as you and I do by the time it got to the escaping part.
She still can't cope with the turrets though. As soon as she hears one she doesn't want to do the level because they're too loud and she doesn't like dying violently.

Even dad ended up getting into it, though watching them both trying to figure out the puzzles was entertainment in and of itself.
