Community Kudos

Today has been all about this, don’t ask what it is. Just click it. You’re welcome. Time for Community Kudos.

I’d like to start today’s post with the story of #35, who is an awesome dude, and a top banana member of the Kotaku community. Apparently whilst he was taking the train, someone on his carriage started having a seizure. Apparently pretty much everyone in the carriage got a little freaked out by this and left the carriage, but #35 remained. Because he’s a goddamn superhero and he knows how to do the right thing.

#35 stayed with the man having a seizure until the paramedics came. What an awesome thing to do. Just thought that was worth mentioning.

A number of people nominated #35 for this act of kindness. First was Mawt, and the way he mentioned it was perfect: “he helped a stranger when no-one else would. That’s basically the best thing a person can do.”

Both FatShady and ShiggyNinty also wanted to send Kudos to #35 for doing what he did. Great job mate.

And hey Mawt — you have been bestowed with a great honour. Noms from Strange — the Queen/first lady/Oprah of Kotaku. She nominated you because of reasons.

I want to nominate Mawt for Kudos. I’ve been increasingly noticing Mawt as a voice of reason in articles’ comments so I think they deserve Kudosity. Also the name makes me think of Morte from Planescape Torment which always makes me happy. 😀

Time for an a wee break…

Oooooooookay…

Speaking of the above video, James Douglass is one of the few people who remember the Glasgow Diamonds, for real! He sent me a nom email. He watched it when I posted it on twitter earlier this week.

Hey there, Glaswegian diamond!

Noms for the week, at a somewhat more appropriate time;

Batgirl, Virus__, #35 and Alex and his Glorious Pants get my collective vote, for being the greatest response team for a call to arms.
Especially Virus__, ‘cos he’s the little spoon.

And one for you too sir, for that god-awful promo song that I still can’t get out of my head.

I can’t believe it! Scree only sent one nom in this week! That doesn’t mean she didn’t do her level best to nom everyone possible!

Okay for this week I want to nominate Rocket man for gifting me Auditorium when I chose to buy my friend a toy instead of buying the game for myself. Thank you Rockets!
Also I would like to thank everyone who came to the Melbourne meat, it was great to meet you all.
From memory, these are the people I am nomming for making me feel welcome.
Tech knight
Negative zero
Greenius
Beavwa
Pip
Klutar
Sarcasm Fairy
Jordi
Dr. What
Inquisitors (I’m sure you know who I mean, I can’t spell)
Tigerion
Tigerion’s missus.

Well done for keeping it all in one nom email Scree!

In addition to the nom for #35, ShiggyNinty also had some “bomb-ass noms” for Notorious R, who sent him a copy of Saints Row 3 for free. Thanks Shiggy you handsome mega-bearded son of a gun.

Is it about time for another intermission? Sure, why not.

Train your body folks.

I can’t believe that Blaghman has nommed two weeks in a row…

This has to be a record, right? I really am bad at this “community thing.”

Anyway, it’s just more Steam Sale noms. NotoriousauR for gifting me The Walking Dead(Holy crap it is far more amazing than it has any right to be). Rocketmang for ARMA 2: combined ops. Freyr for Psychonauts(I’ll get back to playing it, hit the Meat Circus, and rage quit). Also Bish, for Plain Sight, whatever that is. I guess since I wear glasses it might help. Not sure.

I’d also like to send a repeat nom for Aleph-Null, for the copy of Secret of the Magic Crystals. I have spent 7 hours in it thus far.

Don’t judge me.

Whoops, sorry, already judged you.

Alright only a few noms left. AlexPants, who I totally didn’t realise I wasn’t following on Twitter, had a bunch of nominations. Rocketman, for coming up to visit and being an all-round swell dude, Cakesmith to wish him luck on his upcoming move to Sydney, and Pez for being motivated with his music. I second that emotion.

He also wanted to nom GingerChris, who had some bad luck this week. Sorry mate, and I’m sure it’ll work out for the best. It sounds trite, but it’s true.

Also — super noms come from Welbot, who nommed the man who always delivers, Sughly, for being awesome.

Last set of noms comes from Greenius — who wanted to apologise for not wearing green at the last Meet-up. DAS RACIST!

Big props and kudos to NegativeZero who offered and gave me a lift there and back, despite not living that close to me, thanks! And also an extra thanks to Beavwa who gave me his old headset so I don’t have to type all the time when playing games.

Bish gets a nom for calling Hotross ‘Hotross’ for me. HOTROSSSSSSSS!!
Hotross gets a nom for being Hotross.

And on the topic of Steam sales, once again a big thanks to these people for gifting me games!
Freyr
Rocketman
Crazyguy1990
