Old World Of Warcraft Servers Raise Over $300,000 For Children's Charity

Last year, Blizzard decided to auction off a number of "server blades" from World of Warcraft, which were literally the physical locations where people's online lives were stored and played out.

Seems it was a sound idea, since the grand total of all blades auctioned has reached $US330,000. Best part? Every cent raised goes not to Blizzard's bottom line, but to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

What the heck would someone do with one'a those?

They are collectors items Pan. Click on the link in the article, and you will see :-)

Haters gonna hate, but well done to Blizzard for raising so much for children's hospital.

I told my mates we needed to bid on the blade that serviced out server once upon a time! But we're all too poor =P

Always nice to see the game companies put something back into the real world

I can't help but wonder by Kotaku and Giz didn't pick up on World of Tanks and their ANZAC day collection of money that is now being donated to Legacy in Aus and NZ.. They've done similar for a couple of charities now.
