Florida singer/songwriter Shauna Sweeney has a boyfriend, and he sounds like a pretty great guy. He’s into video games, comics, and he’s pretty good at defragging a hard drive. And so she wrote this adorable (and catchy!) song, called “My Nerdy Boyfriend”.
A lot of this kind of stuff — “cute girl sings a song about nerds” — can be condescending or misguided, but I really liked this song. It’s a truly sweet tune, and for all her talk of how nerdy her boyfriend is, the jokes and references are so spot-on that I sense Sweeney herself may be the true nerd.
