Potaku 8: Achievement Unlocked

The Potaku juggernaut just keeps on rolling baby and it absolutely will not stop until... well Potaku doesn't have any set goals, so it won't stop until everyone in the world is listening to it I guess? I don't know what I'm talking about, this is just an intro, hey ShiggyNinty you handsome mega-bearded son of a gun, why don't you take over for me here and explain what's going on in this week's enthralling episode of Potaku?

If the sound of an achievement unlocking or a chime of a trophy is music to your ears, then man do we have an episode for you! Welcome to Potaku Episode 8! On this episode we talk all manner of things related to those lovely point gaining tasks in video games with our lovely guests The Cracks and Aleph-Null. It’s a cracker of an episode so we hope you enjoy!

As usual we have some community playdates set up for you all to enjoy! On Xbox 360, Tuesday at 8:30PM EST we have Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD. For PS3, Wednesday at 8:30PM EST we have Killzone 3. And for the PC group, and this was a suggestion, something I didn’t pick...is Secret of the Magic Crystal...and that’s at 8:30PM EST on Thursday. If you ever want to suggest something, go for it! And as usual we have Monday Night Halo Fights at 8:30PM EST Mondays.

Also, The Cracks has suggested some Exterminatus in Space Marine, ask him for the details and I’m sure he’d be glad to help set something up.

If you have any suggestions, ideas, song ideas, playdate ideas or anything let us know through our Twitter or emails!

Our long term goals are to keep pulling chicks and keep on keepin' on.

Just thought I'd take the time to brag about my signed copy of the Bastion soundtrack that I got. One of only 500 or somesuch

I used to be quite obsessed with getting achievements. There's a fair few games that I've 1000/1000'd on 360. But pretty much all of them are great games and I didn't feel like I was forcing myself to get the achievements, so sometimes I think achievements are great for extending the life of the game. I think what Doc said right at the beginning of the segment sums it up pretty nicely!

My favourite game I've 100%'d in that regard was Alan Wake. Even wrote guides for the DLC achievements and put them up online. It was a lot of fun.

I remember reading guides for FFVII as a kid. I used to stay up late with a torch in bed and just pore over it, much to the dismay of my father, who two days prior had to purchase new ink for the printer after I printed out a 200+ page FAQ :P

As someone who used to reference SUPER in-depth FAQs, I thank you for your contribution :D
