See The Newest Beat ‘Em Up From The Creators Of Bayonetta In Action

With all the hype surrounding Platinum Games’ Metal Gear title, another of their games, Anarchy Reigns, has somewhat fallen through the cracks. Anarchy Reigns is a 3D beat ’em up in the vein of God of War and Devil May Cry starring much of the cast of previous Platinum Games title MadWorld.

Like most beat ’em ups, you use weak and strong attacks to fight hordes of enemies. Performing these normal attacks allows you to build up your killer weapons bar, which can then be spent to unleash powerful attacks and combos. By slaughtering faceless minions across the stage map, you gain points and unlock new story missions and free missions — which in turn give more points and unlock even more missions.

Anarchy Reigns was released on July 5, 2012, for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in Japan. It will be released outside of Japan in March 2013. Stay tuned to Kotaku for our import preview later this week.
