Wakey wakey, everyone. It’s 9am. You should be up by now, right? There’s overnight news to be had! Welcome to While You Were Sleeping, the post where we wrap up the overnight gaming news for your pleasure. Let’s get to it.
Ohmygodohmygodohmygod! This might not be the biggest news for everyone here, but I’m pretty excited! Michael Fassbender — star of X-Men: First Class, Jane Eyre and more recently Prometheus — has apparently signed up for the Assassin’s Creed movie adaptation. Let it be said that I’m a mega Fassbender fanboy and would probably watch this guy read the phone book. Pretty hyped.
Talking of watching people reading the phone book — apparently Resident Evil 6 will have four hours of cutscenes. Four hours! Actually that’s probably not as much as I think it is, compared to a JRPG or Metal Gear Solid. Still, it’s pretty hefty.
Far Cry 3 has a pretty meta-rant about dub-step in video game trailers, whilst still being a video game trailer. INCEPTION.
This is the trailer you weren’t supposed to see for a game you’ll never play, and this is why first-person shooters aren’t really ruining video games.
