I stayed up a little too late last night watching Mad Men, and now I’m tired. So tired. But that doesn’t mean I’m not here to talk video games news with my favourite Kotaku chums. Yes. That’s right. I used the word ‘chums’. That’s just what’s happening today. I’m using words like that.
Here’s something that’s bothered me ever since Donkey Kong Country on the SNES — the phrase ‘CG Quality Graphics’. A phrase that literally means ‘Computer Graphics Quality Graphics’. Blergh. Ever since Toy Story was released we’ve heard gumph about games reaching this level of quality. But have in-game visuals started to taper?
High school pics are terrifying. Mine’s are particularly hideous. Some of you may be in High School right now. Trust me, you think you look cool. You don’t. Want to see a pic of Gabe Newell in his first year of high school? Of course you do!
And speaking of Gabe, here is a classic scene from Pulp Fiction recreated with Valve’s filmmaker. Check this week in video game business — and can you tell the difference between Coke and Pepsi?
