Check Out Assassin's Creed III's Brutal New Combat In This New Video

Back in the 18th century, armies had all kinds of polite rules about how they waged war. The American Revolution was won, in part, by breaking those rules with what we know call guerilla warfare. Ubisoft's developers took inspiration from those old-timey hit-and-run tactics to develop an all-new fighting style for Assassin's Creed III.

The video above highlights the evolution of the threequel's combat and looks at the weapons that main character Connor will be using in the upcoming game.

    Get over here!

I love the look of the combat, but a bit of an aesthetical detail that all of the previous AC games seem to still be missing is the long-term presence of blood or signs of carnage, particularly on the corpses themselves.... No big issue, just something I'd prefer :P

So have they given up on the assassins being somewhat neutral, unbiased judges of balanced power? It seems Connor is killing only redcoats now, as his predecessor did the Borgia :<

Anyway, combat looks awesome, the kill animations get more and more brutal in each entry, and this looks to be a large host of new ones! Got to love how very fluid the combat is. I just hope they can balance difficulty to the best of their ability; I don't want to carve through the entire game 'like butter' ;)

I believe it was stated in a previous interview with the debs that he kills blue coats too, but it's during scenarios that would lea to massive spoilers.

The spoiler being AMERICANS ARE JINGOISTIC FRUITBAGS

IIRC he does kill people on both sides (there was a trailer a few weeks ago with him killing Americans). His main goal is hunting Templars, regardless of their side but pretty sure I remember a dev saying Connor just likes to fight for justice rather then revenge (like Ezio) so he starts off fighting Americans more but when the war starts he turns against the brits (he sees them being just as oppressive to the Americans as the Americans once were to his people - or something like that)

only downside is the games still published by ubisoft =(

and suddenly all my interest for this series rushes back, damn you advertising.
