Exclusive First Look At The Legend Of Zelda: Hyrule Historia In Glorious English

People really want the Hyrule Historia. They want it more than light bondage sexual hijinks. It's true.

Take a look at Amazon for proof. Pre-orders for Nintendo's officially sanctioned Legend of Zelda encyclopedia on the book-selling mega-site have dislodged the dirty sexytimes publishing phenomenon 50 Shades of Grey from the #1 best-seller spot. And the Zelda book's not even out yet.

When Hyrule Historia came out last year, it became a holy mission for dedicated fans to translate the Japan-only text into English so that Western readers could learn all the intricate details of Zelda development history. But now that Dark Horse will be bringing the tome out in the States, you can own it yourself. Kotaku has an exclusive first look at the Historia's translated interior pages below. If you want more where that came from, join in at the pre-order frenzy here. We'll have more on the release of the English language Hyrule Historia as news becomes available.

Does anyone know if Amazon USA deliver to Australia?
    I NEED THIS BOOK!!!

Yes. Sometimes they block electronics but they do ship to Australia. Postage is a shitload though (but fairly quick).

If you want to save $20 and are fine with waiting 2 weeks for postage, Book Depository will have it. If you're desperate for the book, then grab it off Amazon.

Book Depository don't have it at the moment but I don't think it'll be $21 there (most likely ~$30ish around the RRP). Amazon have 40% off at the moment which makes it $20.99. Shipping is ~$10, 15, 20 so it's not too bad :).

Cheers people. I worked out it roughly converts to 2,328 rupees. I'm gunna have start forward rolling into trees PRONTO!

Luckily there is no thumbs up button , or I'd be spamming it.

Just contacted www.popcultcha.com.au via email because I know they get stuff from Dark Horse.
They said they can more than likely get it and will have it on the website soon, but will also contact me when it's confirmed!

        BAM! Australian retailer!

"They want it more than light bondage sexual hijinks"

    Not all people...
    *puts on gimp mask*

Meh. The Zelda universe has so much potential but has been a real let down in the last 12 years. No development in story or history at all. What a waste.

      Kinda like your comment!

Didn't Skyward Sword kinda establish a shit ton of the early, oft ill-defined lore?

Biggest problem is they keep saying it's all one universe. But it's not, it's self contained. They contradict each other. The lore is fantastic but only if it stays confined to the game it's in (or sequels as OoT/TP and WW/PH/ST did). Linking em up is silly.

I agree linking the current games is silly. But they have had so many re-boots that there seems little point in taking in the story – as we know the next game will just start over with a new link/Zelda. I think they should give the franchise a break, and come back with a fresh idea and expand the universe and characters.

Can't wait to get this. Only 5 months to go :) I bought it from amazon for $21 + $15 shipping.
