Team Fortress 2 Now Has A Third Team: Robots. Also, Co-op!

Team Fortress 2 now has a co-operative "horde" mode of its own, allowing up to five players to take on waves and waves of...angry robots.

Gray Mann has built an unstoppable automaton army with a single purpose: to destroy all things Mann Co. Luckily for you, the majority of this robot legion is equipped with basic weaponry that could never level an entire building. Unluckily, they also have access to giant bombs, which they'd drag through hell if it meant dropping one in a Mann Co. bombhole. And it's up to you to stop them. And it's up to a small cadre of Special Robots to stop you from stopping the regular robots. Here's what we know about these Special Robots:

Mann vs. Machine is a new co-operative game for Team Fortress 2 that lets you and five friends wage a desperate battle to stop a lethal horde of robots from deploying a bomb in one of Mann Co.'s many strongholds. Take advantage of breaks between waves to upgrade your abilities and weapons. Survive all the waves in any of a variety of missions to earn incredible loot.

Be interesting to see how it plays.

Now i know why there wore those strange messages on the weekend ingame

Interesting note if you've been following the buildup and all that, in the latest comic A Fate Worse Than Chess (, on Page 33 you can see that the Engineer has a robotic hand where his glove normally is

I' retty sure that's one of his upgrades, where he cut his arm off to put on that hand.

Yes, that would be the gunslinger.
It was invented by his grandfather, and was included in the engineer update. Its most notable features are 25+ hp, a smaller, unupgradable mini-sentry and a taunt kill.

    TF2 and Robots.

This is extremely relevant to my interests.

    Where is the pyro?

I thought that too. No Pyro love in that video.

Fire might not be suitable to fight metal with :P

Terminator 2 might disagree with you there. As well as Oxy Torches.

At the top of the article, you state five players can play, then down the bottom you state " you " AND five players. Just saying.

perfect timing....pretty bored with diablo3 borked gameplay

And now you know why Sandviches and sodas give scrap metal when you combine two of them.

Just when everyone else had done a horde mode, along comes... another horde mode!

it's a shame they didn't add a seventh player. That would have been magnificent.
