The Unreal Engine 3 Runs Pretty Well On Windows RT, Which Bodes Well…

The Unreal Engine 3 has been up and running on both Android and iOS for a while now — a modified version specifically for mobile — but it looks as though future Windows tablets, including Microsoft surface, will be getting the fully fledged version. This bodes well for them there video games.

The above video demonstrates the full Unreal Engine 3 running on the Tegra-powered ASUS Vivo Tab. Looks butter smooth.

For a while I’ve resisted tablets — mainly because I didn’t feel that they worked as compelling enough gaming platform — but now that I bended to pressure and bought a Nexus 7, I’m definitely going to keep a closer eye on tablets. Looking at the quality of upcoming high end games, like Firemonkey’s Real Racing 3, and it’s pretty clear the gap is shrinking.

Interesting times.
