Turn That Old, Silver DS Into A Bright Orange Game Boy


Reader Maarten, from the Bureau voor Gamers, sent us this cool project he and his team recently completed, turning an old Nintendo DS “phat” into what’s basically a more modern model of the Game Boy.

It’s not the most complex of hack jobs I’ve ever seen, seeing as all they’ve really done is remove the DS’ top screen and repaint the case, but it’s still a neat end result, especially since they’ve gone for the GameCube-esque “spice” colour scheme.

Why would you do it, when the DS already plays Game Boy games? It’s old, likely abandoned hardware. Why not do something to spruce it up a little.
