Check Out The Assassin's Creed 3 Achievements List

Do people still actively care about achievements nowadays? Its seems as though, in general, people care that little bit less about them. I guess I still get a little excited if I do something cool and get rewarded for it, particularly in sports games, but I don't seek them out in the way I used to. Still -- this is the achievement list for Assassin's Creed 3, which is a super big important AAA mega game, so maybe it is worth taking a gander?

The full list is here, and it goes without saying there may be mild spoilers ahead. I've gone ahead and picked out a few cool ones I think may be worth shooting for...

Circus Act 10G Kill 15 guards with a single cannon shot.

Eye Witness 10G Witness a predator killing an enemy.

Jager Bomb 20G After becoming fully Notorious, kill 10 Jagers before losing your notoriety.

And this is my favourite one ever, because it actually uses one of my favourite Scottish phrases...

Whit's fur ye'll no go by ye! 10G Block a firing line 5 times by using a human shield.

You can read the full list here.

I like looking at achievement lists ahead of games like this simply to find out more information about them. For example, now we know there are at least 12 sequences to Connor's story. That doesn't really explain anything at all, but I like knowing it!

Certain games make me feel compelled to hunt all the achievements down. AC2 was one, RDR another. Giving Transformers FOC a good crack too. AC3 can't come soon enough.

I generally only look at achievments if I really loved the game, finished the main story, and want to eek out a few more minutes of gameplay. FFXIII-2 is the first major release that I've been compelled to get '100%' on though (achieved last week, actually).

In before "Wah! Acheivements suck and ruin games!"

We really need to start getting rewarded for our hard work. For example, cheaper/free game downloads depending on Trophy level, Platinum trophy amount, etc... Not that I am complaining, I love collecting trophies for the heck of it, but it would be a decent business model.

I think the notion of achievements affecting game prices is a bit of a long shot.

But I like the concept: maybe unlocking exclusive previews for games, or avatar items, or something would be a bit more realistic.

They reward people in WoW and Diablo III by giving extra items as part of accomplishing the achievements; like WoW giving you mounts/companion pets/titles for doing certain raid achievements. It's a good way to keep people hooked, and a good way to give something back to those who work their butt off to get a difficult achievement.

I like to look at achievement lists prior to the release of a game just to get a sense of how the game might be structured, its length, etc.

Working Dog, why you no make Hollowmen season 3?

        and another season of frontline

        also the Castle 2

I am mostly ambivalent about achievements. But "Witness a predator killing an enemy" is the kind of achievement I don't like to see. If they're going to exist at all, they should be something that is actually a challenge, something to aim for. An achievement as passive as witnessing a thing doing a thing is totally pointless.

Perhaps there's a way you can incite predators? poke the bear then run past soldiers...

Perhaps this is a rare event? Might be more difficult than it seems...

Achievements can be a good way to try something you wouldn't normally do. But multiplayer achievements really annoy me.

      +1

I decided to get every single trophy on gta4 just to extend my gamplay.......
100% in game, get to the online trophies "GET F%$^&D"

Achievements can be great, if done correctly. Too many games use either "Congratulations! You made it past a certain plot point!" or MMO-style questing "Kill 10 whatchamajiggers" in an effort to pad out to the full 1000 gamerscore/whatver deemed necessary for the game. Not only is this lazy, but I can usually determine how far is left in the game by counting the number of secret achievements left, which kills immersion instantly.

I mostly ignore them, for this very reason, but I do enjoy being pleasantly surprised when I do something awesome, and then an achievement pops up confirming that it was, in fact, awesome. Either make them all secret, or don't try to fill the full 1000 gamerscore with pointless crap - I'd prefer 200 GS for ten awesome achievements to 1000 for forty tedious ones.

Please no multiplayer achievements, you ruined my plan of having 100% on all AC titles T_T

(Theres prolly MP achievements IDK Im not looking incase spoilers)

It's a link to xbox360achievements, they censor the secret achievements, don't worry.

I believe these are the only MP ones-

      Abstergo Entertainment 10
Reach level 20 in the multiplayer mode.

      Hunter/Killer 20
Reach sequence 10 in a map on Wolfpack multiplayer mode.

      Winning Team 20
Be on the winning team at the end of a multiplayer game session.

      Personalized 10
Customize your multiplayer Profile and Character.

Comments are saying that lvl 20 in Revelations took 5-10 hours, so looks like I might actually bother for 100% again. I hate MP achievements too but I'll think about doing them if they're not absurd Gears of War style ones, I'm not a competitive person so I don't enjoy MP that much.

There's 2 MP achievements/trophies in Brotherhood which were near impossible to get without getting a group together & boosting - I've seen many a player without the Platinum just because of those two.

AC multiplayers know which ones I'm talking about >..

I just want to a see a Predator tie in to the Assassins Creed universe now. :P
