Final Fantasy Creator’s Guardian Blade Hits iOS Next Week

Mistwalker’s first mobile game, Party Wave, was certainly not what I expected from the company fronted by the creator of Final Fantasy, Hironobu Sakaguchi. Blade Guardian, a real-time tower defence strategy title due out on October 1, is much more like it.

It’s not that I don’t like surfing; I plan on picking up a copy of Party Wave when it hits Android on October 1. I just associate Sakaguchi with a certain sort of experience. Something more akin to a unique defence title in which your units can transform into a ball and roll about the screen, guided destructively about courtesy of your mobile device’s gyro sensor. That’s Guardian Blade, as far as I can tell from the game’s modest website.

Flip through the images below to get a feel for what’s in store for us come October 1.
