These Are All The Games You Can Check Out At Sydney's EB Expo

This year's EB EXPO is shaping up to be a pretty definitive event. I love the idea. EB already attracts developers to Australia for its own vendor show, so it makes perfect sense to go the extra mile and create a consumer event. It's good for the developers, good for retail, and it's awesome for consumers. Jolly good show. Now EB has put together a preview video explaining the event itself, and precisely what you'll be able to see if you attend.

This is a pretty comprehensive list of games you'll be able to play at the event.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 Far Cry 3 (Single & Multiplayer) Halo 4 Borderlands 2 Skylanders Giants Assassins Creed 3 (Single & Multiplayer) Medal of Honor: Warfighter Tomb Raider God of War: Ascension Aliens Colonial Marines Epic Mickey 2 Tekken Tag Tournament 2 PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale WWE'13 Forza Horizon Lost Planet 3 Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed Rocksmith XCOM Enemy Unknown Need for Speed Most Wanted Pro Evolution Soccer 2013 Silent Hill Book of Memories NBA2K13 Dragon Ball Z Kinect Kinect Nat Geo TV Ghost Recon Future Soldier Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance Wonderbook: Book of Spells Assassins Creed 3 Liberation Vita Nike + Kinect Training Resident Evil 6 Dance Central 3 Fable the Journey FIFA 13 Kinect Sesame Street TV F1 Race Stars Just Dance 4

Pretty impressive.

The EB Expo takes place at Sydney Olympic Park from October 5 to October 7.

Thanks Vooks!

This would have to be the largest concentration of 3DS/Vitas ever, right?

It was last time. My friend completed ALL the street pass puzzles from that day alone.

Sweet... I will hopefully be going to Homebush for the grand final that day. I'll be sure to take my 3DS, maybe swing by the entrance of the expo.

Seems like a HUGE rip off to me to find out what you can easily get by doing a few searches online.

I guess good luck to them though, retail isn't going very well so they will probably make an absolute fortune with these shows. But seriously, a full day STARTS at $70!! God damn!!

Great business model though. Make chumps pay a huge amount for directed advertising of products they will also spend even more money on when they are released.

And if you wanna justifying your ticket price because of the 5 minute bursts of games you'll play a month or 2 early just proves how much people need to have something NOW and not able to wait! EB will love you for it. ;)

    Temporary Tattoo Parlour
    unf!

That lineup makes me feel really jaded. I'd be keen to see some Halo 4, but the best I can manage for anything else there is "-eh?"

Is it bad that I'm only looking forward to maybe 2-3 games on that list?

Better than last year, all we had was E3 demos and nothing new. I lined up for an hour and a half to play Arkham City a week before release, and it was the E3 demo I had seen online months ago lol. Same with every other game, I saw nothing new and there was no WiiU or Vita there.

AND FUCKING FIFA! They advertised LoL and SC2 finals on the saturday in the arena. Like 300 of us went in there, and they played Fifa finals. We all waited for it to finish, it took an hour, and it was 11PM. And then they said that the finals would be on Sunday, and you would have to stand around and watch the booth thing, but it was a public walkway and security kept moving people who crowded. I was big disappointed.

Also I went home Sunday morning, so I didn't see any live SC2. Website lied to me.

Hey Jake, Kelsey here - I'm the Community Manager for EB. Agreed that based on last year's comps we have a lot of room for improvement, and we absolutely took feedback from you guys based on what happened last year.

This year we have an entire 'Homegrown' section which is going to have a whole bunch of comps going on as well as stuff by Aussie devs - it is also being externally managed by people who have experience in that sector of the industry, so you'll DEFINITELY see the difference in terms of that kind of thing.

I'd go just to check out Borderlands 2...
But it comes out 2 weeks before the Expo, so that wont be required.

Other than that, I cant say I've more than a slight interest in much else there.
    XCOM & BLOPs2 at most.

    Dragon Ball Z Kinect?

Why is this the first time I've heard of this? Does this really mean I can do a kamehameha?

Remember Ultimate Tenkaichi, aka "DBZ Rock Paper Scissors Simulator"? It's that, with bad Kinect gameplay (at least, according to footage). But yes, technically you can do a motion for a Kamahemeha and have it represented on screen.

AS much as I think the EB Expo is a good idea - for a certain demographic of gamers - it's a little too late in the year for anything to be really exciting. It all comes out around about this time of year anyway, and so I'm skipping it.
Also, obligatory, "I hate EB Games" comment from Stu, because it wouldn't be an EB-related comment without one.

Aliens and Epic Mickey seem to be the only titles of remote interest there, but little surprise there. Got into last year's one for free and still thought I paid too much. Might hang around the entrance of this for some streetpasses though - but that said, even at last year's one I don't remember getting all that many.

I'll wait for PAX Australia next year.

Here is a more comprehensive list (the video neglects to mention Injustice: Gods Amongst Us, for example), with what is playable and what is not:

I wonder how they reacted to the PAX Australis announcement?

Now there's no excuse Mark can't cover this event. PLEASE SHOW ME COLONIAL MARINES!
