Community Kudos

Another Friday, another Kudos. Another post full o’ noms. Welcome to Community Kudos where we take the time to thank all the great people that populate Kotaku!

What happened this week? Well it looks like Potaku is gaining some steam, and BatGuy is in San Francisco for some reason! Everything else? Man, I just can’t keep up. This world just ain’t built for an Old Man Serrels.

Alright let’s get these noms cooking.

Whaddya know, it’s late night noms with Batguy! He has a tale of woe… and redemption.

Live from San Francisco, it’s late night noms with Batguy!

My international noms go to Ruffleberg and D.C. who both gave me free games this week. Giving away free games in the Kotaku community is so commonplace nowadays that it barely seems nomworthy anymore. But I feel the need to thank them especially this time because it makes up somewhat for the bunch of games I lost when I left my *&@#(@! 3DS on the *&@#(@! plane. So I’ve lost my GBA and NES ambassador games, but at least I now have a copy of Gears of War 2 and Anna’s Quest: Volume 1.

Thanks so much guys! You’re awesome!

Batguy

PS: EVERYBODY READING THIS SHOULD GO BUY ANNA’S QUEST: VOLUME 1
PPS: AND VOTE FOR IT ON STEAM GREENLIGHT

I loved these noms, because I imagined BatGuy being the host of a late night radio show on a Jazz station whilst reading it. Also because he has coined the phrase — international noms.

Here’s another cool phrase: “Kotaku’s a rich tapestry of awesome people”. It was D.C. who said that.

He nommed a bunch of folks — not quite Oprah noms, but close!

This week I’d like to nominate SmurfyDog. He’s only around TAY come nightfall, but his presence is definitely noticed: always has an interesting insight or story to tell, always helping someone out. Tigerion’s been gifting games all week too. Also Splicer visited a friend’s booth at the Melbourne Armageddon Expo last weekend, the support was most definitely appreciated. Sughly! Shane! Strange! Could list ’em all

TheLastQuestion is pretty excited about the weekend…

HEY MARK IT’S FRIDAY AND IT’S ALREADY HALF OVER! HOORAY!

*ahem* Anyway. Noms. I want to nom everyone who helped me decide the topic of my 2012 NaNoWriMo attempt. I was torn between zombies or space marines, and have settled on SPAEC MAUREEEENZ thanks to everyone’s encouragement.

Ultra mega awesome noms specifically to Jimu who read through some stuff for me and provided some awesome feedback, which will make the novel even better

Love and beards,

Dude — you have to let me read the book once it’s done! Angus from Lifehacker did NanoWriMo a while back and wrote a story about a Porn Director for some reason. His brother, Alex Kidman, ex-Editor of Gizmodo, wrote a story about sharks. That was also cool.

Strange got her noms in early this week — I think a bunch of you guys and girls missed out because of the clocks changing!

I think the person most deserving of Kudos this week is Jo (Jocon). He’s been offering smart advice to numerous people and has also had some of the most entertaining and funny comments I’ve seen all week.

And I couldn’t believe it. I was so shocked: Welbot, the undisputed God-King of the last minute noms actually emailed me on time this week. ON TIME!

One of the oldest TAYbies reporting in for NomNom Duty! (Now even older as of last week! eep!)

I don’t have anyone in particular to nom this week, as everyone has been pretty awesome, so I guess I’d just like to give a shoutout and thankyou to all the lovely people (including yourself) who wished me a happy birthday last weekend! 🙂

I may be 34, but I still feel about 16! 🙂 So long as I have awesome friends like you guys, life will always be fun, and I’ll never feel too old!

Thanks again all!

Dude, I’m catching up with you fast! I’m 32 next year. SOB.

I’ve decided that the only way I can communicate the impact of the GKN (Greenius Kudos Noms) is to screencap them…

Probably also worth noting that the subject line was: “GREENIUS KUDOS IN YO FACE”

Indeed.

The last word this week goes to Aleph-Null, who actually didn’t use caps AT ALL during his email!

I know he got nommed for this last week (and won! Deservingly so :D) but I really do feel the need to nom D.C. for The State Of TAY. Those catchup posts are invaluable, and I feel rather indebted towards D.C. for that!

Other noms go to FatShady, Shadow Rize, Saturday and BudgieIsHere for co-op Borderlands 2 awesomeness. Connection issues aside, I have no idea what I’m doing in that game anyway. There’s so many explosions, that the explosions have explosions. It’s ridiculous.

And more noms still for Ben and the gang for the updates and upgrades. I didn’t get a chance to participate, but the Ask Kotaku feature this week was a really cool read!

Take care mate, and thanks again for providing us with a stable foundation for the social maelstrom that is TAY!

And this week’s winner? Despite the fact he won last week, it has to be D.C.! It’s been a while since we’ve had a double. YOU ARE OFFICIALLY ALL BANNED FROM NOMINATING D.C. NEXT WEEK UNLESS HE BECOMES BATMAN OR SOMETHING!

Have a great weekend guys!
