Midnight Club Vets Bring Fast-Paced Combat Racing To Facebook

Developed by a crack team of former Midnight Club developers at Jagex’s new California studio, Carnage Racing is a fully realised 3D combat racing game debuting exclusively on Facebook next month. That doesn’t leave us much time to push the cows off the road.

Smashing headlong into the notion that Facebook games are inane click fests without anything resembling traditional gameplay, Carnage Racing is the sort of game one would expect to see on a handheld gaming system or particularly powerful smart phone. It’s an arcade-style 3D combat racer packed with vehicles, weapons, boosts and tracks, with head-to-head racing for up to seven friends or singleplayer battles against the game’s AI.

Players will earn experience points and currency which can be traded towards better vehicles and more powerful weapons, which is no doubt where monetisation kicks in.

According to the game’s producer, Arash Amini, “Carnage Racing perfectly blends arcade style gameplay mechanics with AAA graphics to give racing fans a Facebook gaming experience like no other. With a vast array of customisation, upgrades and an army of waiting competitors, Carnage Racing is set to change the way people think about racing games on Facebook.”

Or games on Facebook in general, really.
