Only Those Who Pre-Order The New BioShock Infinite Web Game Can Play It

There’s a new BioShock web game out today, from the people who made the pretty cool puzzle game Cogs. Would you like to play it? Then pre-order BioShock Infinite.

Did you already pre-order BioShock Infinite? Then cancel that pre-order and pre-order again. (So says the official FAQ.)

The web game, BioShock Infinite: Industrial Revolution, certainly appears Cogs-inspired and looks like the kind of puzzle game that well into the Bioshockiverse. It also unlocks stuff in the February-scheduled BioShock Infinite, specifically:

  • 3 Exclusive Gear items: Handyman Nemesis, Sugar Rush, and Fleet Feet
  • In-Game cash
  • Learn about the city of Columbia and its factions through story chunks.
  • Facebook pack that pledges your allegiance for either the Vox Populi or the Founders

If you’re intrigued, here’s the official description:

BioShock Infinite: Industrial Revolution is a puzzle game in which you assume the role of a factory worker within the sky-city of Columbia. You complete increasingly difficult puzzles while learning more about the warring factions in the game and earning in-game rewards.

And here’s the million-dollar question, from the FAQ, for pre-order abstainers:

Is it part of BioShock Infinite? Will it ever be offered for sale? Can I buy the in-game items or grab them in a later edition?

Industrial Revolution is not offered for sale as a standalone game, it is not part of BioShock Infinite, and we currently have no plans for its content to be used elsewhere.

Unsure about BioShock Infinite? Maybe you should watch the game’s snazzy new trailer.
