The Horror Of A Wii U Controller That Looks Like A SNES Pad

It would be great if Nintendo released one of their Wii U Pro pads in a SNES finish. Preferably, a Japan/PAL colour scheme. Until they do, though, it's up to third party manufacturers to cater to that market.

Like this...hideous...thing. It's popped up on EB Games' Australian portal without so much as a manufacturer listing, the only information present being the photoshop horror you see above you.

I mean, the button layout is the same, so it could work. It's just...when a hackjob like this is all we've got to go on, it doesn't exactly inspire confidence in the final product. If such a product ever actually materialises.

The controller isn't the funny thing here, its the comments on the IGN article about it, talk about getting off topic fast.

      like every ign article

if there is a PC version, i'll by it:)

Yeah I would get one to. I rather like it.

Pretty sure you can link it to your PC like a wiimote if you have bluetooth

I have no idea where the "horror", "hideous", "hackjob" stuff is coming from - it looks like a pretty standard product illustration. Does it bother you that they've moulded in the outside shape of the original snes controller in as well, or do you think that's a photoshop mistake?

I think the design looks awesome and if it works just as well as a legit controller then I will be buying one.

then you would need to plug the old controller in somewhere, and have the cord dangling around the knees, nty

I can't believe no one has done this before...

The SNES pad is just the Dualshock, so we've had something like this for years.

Got it round the wrong way there, chief.

Why the horror, Luke? It looks better than the pro controller Nintendo are making. I'm sure if this was a genuine controller they would sell WAY more on nostalgia alone than they will of the pro.

This is a genuine controller :)

And a lot cheaper than the official one.

    Looks pretty neat to me.

As much as I always find it amusing how nearly everyone on here automatically has to disagree with anything the likes of Plunkett has to say... Sadly I have to agree with the majority here today.

I'm sorry but I feel as though that controller just has 'character', something the sterilized stardard white/black controller doesn't. I might actually consider picking one of these up if it's revealed Nintendo is behind it and not a 3rd party manufacturer... I've been burnt too many times...

I absolutely agree with you. Plus, not discounting fact that its $30 dollars cheaper. The problem I have with it at the moment is that we don't know much about it. Until I see product details I'm unsure whether I'm going to buy it or not.

Why does the SNES part have what looks like start and select buttons? Unless there are two start and select buttons...

I love the SNES so this controller gets the thumbs up from me.
