It’s safe to say there aren’t many recent top-down racing shooters in our diets these days, especially if do most of your gaming on PC. Remedy’s Death Rally, released back in August, helped improve the situation and if you have yet to indulge in the developer’s vision of brutal automotive combat, now might be the time. Not only is the game free to play this weekend via Steam, it’s also 50% off if you do take the plunge.
Normally $US9.99, the discount brings Death Rally down to a tidy $US4.99, a sum that’s frighteningly easy to relinquish from one’s wallet. If you need further convincing, there’s always this terrifying trailer of half-nakedness that will either make the decision for you, or render you blind for the rest of time.
The version of Death Rally on Steam was ported from iOS, but it seems to have made the transition relatively unscathed and includes multiplayer in both competitive and co-op forms. Even if you don’t buy it, a short, free bash over the weekend doesn’t sound like a bad way to spend your idle hours.
