The Angry Video Game Nerd's Feature Film Has An Official Trailer

The scourge of terrible retro games over the past six years, James Rolfe -- the Angry Video Game Nerd -- has been working on a feature-length film for some time; he announced plans for it back in 2010 and last year cut back production of the Angry Video Game Nerd series to focus on it. Yesterday, he uploaded the feature's official trailer, signaling that this project is ready to roll.

Indeed it is; shooting for the feature -- which naturally revolves around the storied (and very real) burial place of 1982's unforgettably awful E.T. on the Atari 2600 -- was wrapped back in May. Rolfe accumulated more than $US325,000 in fan funding for the project, joined by the independent filmmaker Kevin Finn.

Additional shooting is necessary, and editing has just begun, but this trailer is meant to say to fans: "Yes, this is a thing." So Angry Video Game Nerd is looking at a DVD/Blu-Ray release, worldwide, sometime in 2013.

You can track progress on the film at Rolfe's site, Cinemassacre.

I saw this yesterday, it actually looks pretty cool! Love the AVGN!

I've been a fan of the nerd since '06, So I would have been happy with a movie length review but... It doesn't look great, but at least it doesn't look horrible so It might be worth a buy on Blu-ray

Well it depends what you were expecting :P A personal project by a first-time film-maker with no funding, except from fans, isn't exactly expected to live up to much. But I'm sure I'll enjoy it a lot either way! :P

I'm not saying it's not worth watching, I'm just saying that it's his first shot at a movie and I think he's aiming to high, not sure if you watch any That guy with the Glasses shows(Don't even bother, They are garbage now) But the nostalgia critic made a living on review movies and ripping on them but he tried to make on himself and it was a colossal failure. So I will watch it and I will love it but I hope he doesn't make a fool of himself and the character.

I hope the actual movie is a bit more tongue in cheek than the preview looked.

Sure some ripped copys are turning up on the internet eventually.

I was going to say that he should have stuck to AVGN reviews online, but even those got old by 2009 if not earlier.

I loved the AVGNs reviews. That guy spawned so many imitators. You apparently there's a CGR movie around also!
