Off Topic: End Of The World Gaming

According to the Mayan calendar, the world is going to end in three days. So let's imagine. Imagine you have three days left on this earth and you can only play one more game before an asteroid hits earth and obliterates us all. What would that game be and why?

Most likely gaming would be the last thing on my mind, but if I did play a game, I think it would either be Monkey Island 2 or Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. There's something a little special about those games for me. It's probably more to do with the time I played them than anything, the age I was.

What about you? Imagine you only have time to play one more game. What do you play?

Fallout, Fallout 2, Fallout Tactics, Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas

If you can knock all those off in the next three days I'll be mighty impressed

        Thank you

But I would get to Fallout 2 (due to the time restriction in Fallout) and immerse myself completely

The apocalypse would happen and I wouldn't notice

Seems fitting to play Fallout in the lead up to the apocalypse. If you survive you will at least be prepared

I have been playing Fallout since it was relased

I am no "Survivalist" but I think I would live for sure

Totally. I doubt I could fashion a sling out of cat guts and a paperclip or anything, but after so many hours in the Washington and Califronia wastes, I reckon I'd get by.

Well, at least until the Enclave show up. Then we're all fucked.

            Those damnable Enclave man!

I am heading straight for the Brotherhood

            Wait....why don't we form it?

That's a tough question, but I'd probably sink my teeth into Uncharted 3. Who am I kidding? I'll still be playing Battlefield 3 on PC.

Firstly, the Mayan calendar didn't account for leap years, so if anyone is actually basing a prediction for the end of the world off of the fact that they stopped writing calendars... the world should have actually ended a number of months ago.

However with all of the crap that's going on across the planet right now, it's hard to see the light through the darkness. North Korea firing missiles, gun nuts protecting their gun laws over the safety of the lives of children etc. It's hard to stay positive.

Anyway, VIDEO GAMES AND HAPPY FUN TIMES. I wouldn't be able to choose just one. If I saw Apophis on an impact trajectory with Earth I'd play The Wind Waker, Banjo-Kazooie and some Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem to lighten the mood.

After hitting Prestiege Master on Black Ops 2 last night in my final days I'm now going to revert back to my origins and play some FF7 and Pokemon :)

Doom. This is also the answer to my 'Stuck on a desert island for an entire year with only one game' query... It always comes back to Doom. That game is just perfection...

      Played the Brutal Doom addon?

I'd be playing Hide The Salami with my wife.

Does she have a meat locker? You could hide in there and avoid the apocalypse!

no no, you'd need to do the indiana jones thing and hide in a fridge

Dark souls, apocalypse would seem easier than this game

Sorry but i'd be playing bedroom olympics.

By the way, any know what time zone the end of the world is actually calculated to? I have a feeling the Mayan's weren't aware of GMT.

    Superman 64?

I'll come back as a super zombie and make you play through the whole thing

If an asteroid is going to hit earth and obliterate all life, there's only one game to play.

    The Dig.

The romantic in me would love to find an Apple IIc with Space Invaders by Broderbund Software. End my gaming life the same way it started. Realistically speaking though, I'd play Final Fantasy VII. One of the games that had a huge influence on my life. Amusingly, it is also a game about an impending, world destroying/revolutionising catastrophe.

Primordia, and I'd be okay with it.

I finished that on the weekend, man. So good!

Not really a spoiler but just something to keep in mind:

Try not to destroy the decoder, opens up more options later on in the game.

Can we stop with all the “Mayans said the world was ending” bullsh*t. They have discovered another calendar larger than the one that ends on the 21st that goes on for thousands of years. This calendar is only a small piece.

yoshi's island ... it's my go to happy thoughts game

Perfect game with the exception of the baby Mario crying. :S

I'd love it if there was a mod that could replace his crying with smooth jazz ... maybe navi and him can share a spot in digital hell

If it were going to end, which I doubt very much it will, I'd sit down with a bunch of friends and play the shit out of Nintendo Land.

I'd love to name my fave shooter or JRPG, but no. I'd want something fun, something to remind me of the good old days of couch based same-screen multiplayer with friends.

It's actually been really annoying me lately that people keep saying "According the to Mayan Calender the world is ending"... The correct statement is "According to internet crackpots, the world is ending with the Mayan calender". Just like our 2012 calender is ending and we put up our 2013 one, the current Mayan calender is ending and their new one starts.

Anyway, if I had 3 days to play a game... Probably Warcraft 3, although my Wife would probably insist we co-op something.

Journey, the game seems rather fitting.

Only problem is I'll be done in 40 minutes -.-
