Community Kudos

This week’s Community Kudos is a little different. You have been warned.

It’s different, because I’ve elected to give Community Kudos to somebody who I’m pretty darned sure has never won Community Kudos before, but is so very clearly due a whole heaping load of Kudos regardless.

This week’s Community Kudos winner?

@markserrels, for his overall contribution to the Kotaku Community in 2012, not to mention his spectacular addition (in tiny baby form) to the Kotaku readership this week. Also because he’s way too modest to do it himself under any other circumstances than this. He’s probably going to kill me for subverting the usual Community Kudos rules like this, but, hey, rules were made to be broken. Congratulations to the newly-expanded Serrels family!

From a more practical viewpoint, this week’s three-day schedule didn’t quite allow me time to sort out the Kudos noms in time — with a tip of the kudos hat to @shane and @trjn for giving me the necessary kick in the posterior to even start sorting it out. Plus, given Mark’s admitted backlog of sending out Kudos prizes, I figure this gives him a benchmark; when he gets to the point where he should send himself a prize, he’ll know he’s caught up. Semi-normal service will resume next week, where, so that I can properly receive them, you should send your nominations here.

Community Kudos is your chance to reward Kotaku readers/posters who have done incredible things throughout the past week: sporadic acts of kindness, deft commenting skills — if someone deserves to be called out for being an incredible human being, Community Kudos is the place to do it. Send nominations (for next week) directly to me at this address! The winner gets a cool prize from Mark’s massive box of stuff.
