Community Kudos

This week's Community Kudos is a little different. You have been warned.

It's different, because I've elected to give Community Kudos to somebody who I'm pretty darned sure has never won Community Kudos before, but is so very clearly due a whole heaping load of Kudos regardless.

This week's Community Kudos winner?

@markserrels, for his overall contribution to the Kotaku Community in 2012, not to mention his spectacular addition (in tiny baby form) to the Kotaku readership this week. Also because he's way too modest to do it himself under any other circumstances than this. He's probably going to kill me for subverting the usual Community Kudos rules like this, but, hey, rules were made to be broken. Congratulations to the newly-expanded Serrels family!

From a more practical viewpoint, this week's three-day schedule didn't quite allow me time to sort out the Kudos noms in time — with a tip of the kudos hat to @shane and @trjn for giving me the necessary kick in the posterior to even start sorting it out. Plus, given Mark's admitted backlog of sending out Kudos prizes, I figure this gives him a benchmark; when he gets to the point where he should send himself a prize, he'll know he's caught up. Semi-normal service will resume next week, where, so that I can properly receive them, you should send your nominations here.

Community Kudos is your chance to reward Kotaku readers/posters who have done incredible things throughout the past week: sporadic acts of kindness, deft commenting skills — if someone deserves to be called out for being an incredible human being, Community Kudos is the place to do it. Send nominations (for next week) directly to me at this address! The winner gets a cool prize from Mark's massive box of stuff.

Way to go, Mark! Well deserved! Congrats again to you and Mrs. Serrels!

Congratulations, Mark on the new arrival! And thanks for all that you do to make the Kotaku community so awesome!

Also, Mark, go easy on Alex.
If he hadn't done this he would have had all of Kotaku to answer to :)

hahah so awesome ;) I'm sure there's a few of us out there that have wanted this for a while ;)

Congrats to Mark for the kudos, the content, and the new arrival.
And also for running a couple of my reader reviews. Seeing them in pixels on Kotaku's front page have been high points for me this year, without question.
    Cheers for it all!

Even though Mark will be giving the prize to himself, it will still take 6 months to get to his house :P

Serrels? Pfft. What did *HE* ever do for Kotaku? :P He still hasn't accepted my PSN friend request from, like, 2011! Every time I see him there in my friends list with "pending" next to him, a little part of me dies inside :(

Congrats Mark, here's to another year!
