EscapeVektor Vita Slated For Jan 22nd in U.S., Canada, Mexico

Captain Vektor is trapped in a hostile computer, and it’s up to you to get him out – Pac-Man style. Sydney-based studio Nnooo, responsible for games like Pop and Spirit Hunters Inc, are bringing the retro-styled EscapeVektor to the Vita on January 22nd, after enjoying successful releases on Wiiware and 3DS, and those who get this “complete edition” will enjoy even more Vektoring.

“We released escapeVektor in Europe in December and it’s been receiving great reviews” said Nic Watt, Creative Director at Nnooo. “We’ve been working hard to get it released as soon as possible in the US.”

Escapevektor is easily likened to Pac-Man, but its changing speeds, abilities and maps quickly grow it into a much deeper game than its arcade inspiration. As you’ll see from the trailer, managing speed and boost is key to techniques like leading enemies into traps. By the way, how refreshing is it to have a trailer with a decent amount of gameplay shown?

Available from the 22nd on the Vita store for $9.99 USD (with a 20% discount for PlaystationPlus subscribers), players will be running from enemies on 150 different vector grids, with new enemies and obstacles to overcome. The game already has a slew of awards, and is the sum total of EscapeVektor content available, as opposed to the 2011 release, which was planned as the first of four chapters.
