Report: Portal Fan-Film Director Now Working On Y: The Last Man Adaptation

The cinematic adaptation of Brian K. Vaughn's beloved graphic novel series Y: The Last Man will be helmed by Dan Trachtenberg, director of the excellent 2011 Portal fan-film No Escape, Vulture reports.

It'll be Trachtenberg's first time as a feature-film director, which could go either way. Given how strong No Escape was, I could see him doing something interesting with Vaughn's story. Then again, given the source material, he'll certainly have his work cut out for him.

Here's Trachtenberg's No Escape.

It'll be interesting to see how they develop the story into a two hour movie. I think I'd have preferred to see it as an HBO series ala Walking Dead.

Agreed. Hopefully it's a setup for a series of films. Too much awesome to be contained in one movie. I still have the comic if it sucks though

This movie has been in development hell for at least five years. I predict another five and then it gets dropped.

A movie would never do this comic series justice.

Dan Trachtenberg from the Totally Rad Show! He's a fan from way back and a talented director, he'll do a great job. I'm excited.
