Resident Evil Revelations Coming To Xbox 360, PS3, Wii U On May 21

Capcom’s 3DS game, Resident Evil Revelations (not to be confused with Revelations) is getting a console port, Capcom announced today.

Revelations, a survival horror action game that stars series mainstays Jill Valentine and Chris Redfield, was well received when it hit 3DS early last year. Totilo loved it, calling Revelations “one of the 3DS’s most impressive games” in his review.

The horror-action game will be out on Xbox 360, PS3, Wii U and PC on May 21 for $US50.

  • Awesome that this is confirmed. I’m only a couple of episodes in on 3DS but it’s a very good game.

But I think $50 is a bit much. Add the Aussie tax and it’ll be around $80 RRP here.

  • I don’t see what people are complaining about. While RE6 needed to wait till a price drop, this does not. It’s a good game and its worth the price point

    • Its not really the quality, its that its almost full price for a port of a year old handheld game. I would have expected closer to $20.

      • Then you are living in a fantasy world. No company on earth would sell a game these days for $20. I’d be happy paying $50 if they gave the graphics a bit of a boost. I already own the 3DS version and it looks great for the handheld, but it needs a slight upgrade and that’s it.

        • Of course, it won’t actually be $50 in Australia. I expect it’ll be around $80.

A good example of what I would expect in terms of pricing is Anarchy Reigns. By all accounts a decent game, and it launched at US$30 / AU$50.

        • Wasn’t Deadly Premonition sold at $20 when it first came out? I’m only going by rumours, as that game never made it to Australia.

        • I actually mean to write $30 US, which is still a lot lower. My point is that the precedent for these sorts of re-releases is that they are about half normal RRP. I’m thinking games like the MGS collection.

  • From the trailer the graphics look to have been upgraded rather than just being an upscale of the 3DS version.

I haven’t finished the 3DS version but might be tempted to play it properly on a console with a decent controller depending on the price.

  • I had a feeling this would happen :P. It’s an awesome game but it felt like it didn’t really need to be on the 3DS. Knowing Capcom, why wouldn’t they release it on other consoles for more $$?

$50 is a bit much though and I was expecting something like a $30 downloadable title. I probably won’t pick it up again but good news for those who don’t have it.

  • Ill wait for the sale to get this one. Since its a port from a handheld I’m expecting some major issues with the visuals/controls. Hopefully it’ll all convert over smoothly.
