We'll Soon Play Skyrim And Mirror's Edge With Virtual Reality Goggles

The Oculus Rift virtual reality headset is shaping up to be a great piece of technology, but that potential greatness has always been tempered by the worry that most games would never support it.

Thank the Maker for community-created software, then, because cybereality's Vireio Perception driver means that games like Mirror's Edge, Skyrim, Half-Life 2, Portal 2, Left 4 Dead and DiRT 2 are working with the VR goggles.

As is falling death simulator AaaaAAAAA!!!!!!!!, in case you're feeling especially brave.

There's still no word on a release date or price for the consumer version of the Oculus, but a developer version will be shipping in April.

I already get that weird feeling in my stomach when falling off a building in Mirror's Edge.... Can't imagine what it will be like with VR Goggles....

Mirrors Edge! For people who like to throw up! :P

So its not just me then? Thank god!

Oculus Rift can't get here soon enough.

At any remotely reasonable price, I would buy this purely for the Half-Life 2 experience. God I love that game.

    Interesting list of games.

A good game would be ArmA II (/DayZ) which has free aim, so you could look around with the Rift and aim independently with your mouse.

Standard FPS games might be awkward with the rift, as your aim is fixed to the centre of the screen.
