BioShock Infinite Has At Least Three DLC Packs

BioShock developer Irrational Games has just announced the Season Pass accompanying its newest entry into the franchise, BioShock Infinite. The $US20 pack will give access to three pieces of post-release DLC, along with some other goodies.

Irrational said:

The BioShock Infinite Season Pass will be available on March 26, 2013 when the game is planned to launch, and provide nearly $US30.00 of add-on content for $US19.99 (PlayStation®Network, Windows® PC) or 1,600 Microsoft Points (Xbox LIVE® online entertainment network) — a savings of more than 30%. The Season Pass will include all three add-on packs, and can be pre-ordered today through or at a participating retailer.

Those who purchase the BioShock Infinite Season Pass will also receive the Early Bird Special Pack at no extra cost. This bonus pack contains four pieces of exclusive gear, a Machine Gun Damage Upgrade, a Pistol Damage Upgrade, a gold skin for both weapons and five Infusion bottles that allow players to increase their health, their shield durability or their ability to use Vigors by increasing the quantity of Salts they can carry.

BioShock Infinite will be released worldwide on March 26.

I think those are the US prices. knowing 2k it will be $30+ here for us.

Steam is fixed at $80 as opposed to $60, so we're definitely getting that Australia tax
(Though you can get it for $40 at GameLane).
If it's as easy as getting a yank friend to buy the season's pass for you, then you could get the whole package for the price of the game in the US.

Well there's one more game I won't be buying.

On its own, it's no worse than the umpteen other times we've seen this happen, but now? I'm just so damn sick of this shit. I loved Bioshock, but I'm done. I'm out. Fuck these people.
My pile of shame is too big anyway.

Any word on whether this is multiplayer dlc or something that might actually be worth buying?

      The game has no multiplayer.

I'll wait (game is pre-ordered and I'm happy about that). If it's like Minerva's Den, then I'll grab it...if it's challenge rooms and the like, I'll pass.

DLC and microtransactions are the bane of video games. I've never bought into it, and I never will. I wish developers would stop looking like 'sucky-sucky five dolla hoes' and 'two bit street vendors', trying desperately to squeeze another dollar from people.

Its like a 20 ducket expansion pack so ok.

Im more pissed about the exclusives. Is the game's combat balance so shitty and unimportant that fucking with guns and inventory out of the box is no problem?

Already have the Songbird Edition on pre-order. If it's only guns or boosters, that's fine. If it's a whole mission, then bad 2K. Either way, this is still a day one buy.

I love bioshock but I find myself just plain fed up with this business model. Probably wouldn't pay more than $40 , including dlc. Quite fine with waiting until it hits that price point.
