Square Enix Is Teasing Something Murderous

I have no idea what Square Enix is teasing, but it's certainly piqued my interest. UPDATE: It's a game called Murdered: Soul Suspect

A few minutes ago, I got a strange email via a Square Enix press list:

from: [email protected] via kotaku.com reply-to: [email protected] to: [email protected] date: Fri, Feb 8, 2013 at 10:27 AM subject: What is the hardest case to solve? mailed-by: kotaku.com

The body of the email was a weird GIF that ended with a strange symbol:

Head over to murdered.com, which Square also teased on some of their social media accounts. Click on the bottom of the website and you'll see platforms: Xbox 360, PS3, PC.

Evan thinks it looks like Condemned, but Sega owns that series, not Square Enix. I've reached out to Square to ask what the deal is, but for now, let the speculation begin. What do you think? Any ideas?

UPDATE: Square Enix has gotten back to us.

Here's what we can confirm: "Murdered: Soul Suspect" is an exciting new game from Square Enix which challenges players to solve possibly the hardest case of all.

Platforms: PS3, 360 and PC

If the case is Who Framed Roger Rabbit I will lose my sh*t

You have to solve your own murder.

Been done. Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective.

Are you suggesting that SE won't use that theme because Capcom already has?

No, I'm just saying it's not a remotely original idea.

Did you think I came up with that idea on my own? What do you think the premise of the game might be?

I have no idea and I have no real interest in guessing based on the serious lack of information, because odds are I'll be wrong and/or let down.

Clearly the hardest crime to solve is the one that hasn't happened yet... no wait, thats minority report, my bad

The hardest crime to solve would be one that never happened. Although, that really hasn't stopped people in the past claiming a person is guilty.

The twist is probably going to be that your character is also the murderer.

This is the sort of game that should be a next gen launch title
