Last week I was overseas. There were timezone issues. Basically I was facefirst in one of those super comfy hotel pillows catching some serious zeds when I should have been writing Kudos. Sorry everyone! I wanted to make up for it with a mega kudos post this Friday but I was gazumped again! A long weekend! What is this? Also, I’m going camping with my family? ARGH!
So here we go. This week’s Kudos is only going to be slightly mega. Apologies for that. But regardless — let’s look at the positives here: long weekend! Woo!
First off, I’m going to go through the twitter noms. Normally I hate twitter noms because they’re nigh on impossible to find come Friday, but today I welcomed them. I made the call an hour ago and the twitter noms came flooding in.
My favourite was from James Mac, who doesn’t post as much as he used to 🙁
Can we nom Heizy for having to listen to you complain about the Metal Gear stuff you’re not seeing because of there being no net?
Yes, you can. I hate camping so much and I am going to be so passive aggressive on this stupid camping trip.
I nom myself for being awesome
Was swiftly followed by…
Anti-nom for Greedius because he gave himself a nom.
Next on the twitter noms bandwagon was Flu…
I nom all the bald dudes & dudettes who exposed their noggins for a good cause. (That’s still relevant, right?
Yes, absolutely that is still relevant. Well done to the guys. Just in case you missed it, they all shaved their domepieces! Total bros.
Mawt dropped a nom I agreed with.
I nom “GregT” who posted in yesterday’s article about PAX Training. He was critical yet polite.
It was good criticism! I actually thought this when I wrote it, but I didn’t have time to write more!
Alright, I think that’s it for the twitter noms. Time for the big boy noms.
Ser Nobulus sent in some noms that were very nice. You seem like a nice guy bro. We should be buddies.
How’s things in Boston? Hope you are psyching up for some awesome PAX shenanigans! Make sure you save some time between the games at PAX for porridge! Lets get down to the Kudos Noms! (Two separate weeks of noms in one month, I’m on fire!)
This week I’ve got a few noms, first i would like to nom Scree for talking me into watching some non-supermainstream anime and giving me some suggestions!
I would also like to nom Glahmang (Blaghman) and Gorzilla for some anime suggestions!
Next up is Faction, he gifted me a beta for the new ARMA, what an awesome guy!
Finally I would like to throw noms at the Poktaku crew for being jerks and hosting a Minecraft server thus consuming all my free time! Thanks guys! I want to both hug you and DESTROY YOU!
Anyway, that’s it. Have fun at PAX Mark and I look forward to all the articles over the weekend!
Hey Scree — recommend me some Anime!
Also, it sounds like I need to check out this Minecraft server. I remember a long time ago we had a Kotaku Minecraft server and it was awesome.
Matthew J Hellscream
Huge noms for everyone involved with setting up the Potaku Minecraft server. Not exactly sure who is responsible, so I’m not gonna name names. Whoever(s) it is was, YOU DONE GOOD.
Also big noms to Beavwa for setting up farms and utilities on the Potaku Minecraft server for everyone to use.
The thing that is a big surprise about the following AlexPants nom is that Cakesmith and Effluvium Boy live in the same apartment. I did not know that.
I want to nom everyone who helped out in some way with the World’s Greatest Shave, donating or even joining the team and shaving alongside us. But I also want to nom Flu, whose house we invaded at the last minute and whose balcony is apparently still littered with fragments of our hair. (and since Cakesmith lives there I nom him too – obligatory Cake nom)
And talking of Cakesmith — he dropped a big boy nom in addition to his twitter noms.
Single nom for Matthew K (Kermitron). I’m constantly impressed by his comments on all of the articles. He’s the hero Kotaku comments section needs, but not the one it deserves right now.
Alright, I’m all out of segue. The following noms really have no connection to each other. They’re just noms, for different people, for different reasons. I can’t create order from this nom chaos.
I’d like to nominate @shane! He had a booth at Adelaide Oz Comic Con and befriended my uni pals who also had a booth there! Conventions can be tough and I’m sure it was appreciated by them. I’d also like to nominate @strange, @freezespreston and @sughly for being awesome. @jimu too for planning an Easter meat for Brisbane.
Like I’ve no doubt mentioned many times before, I like Ash’s noms because he uses the @ sign for everyone!
I’d like to nominate @freezespreston for community kudos this week, for being the steam gift fairy and hooking my up with a complimentary copy of psychonauts.
I’d also like to nominate @jimu for all the anime related fun we had on TAY this week.
And finally, NovaCascade dropped his first nom in a while. It was for Scree — I totally forgot that she was creating a full on cosplay outfit for NovaCascade, but she is!
Its been a long time since I last nommed. Usually too busy at work to remember to send them in. I have a nom for scree. She sent me up the first part of my PAX cosplay that she’s making for me. I only got to keep it for a few days, just to check to make sure its the right size, but in those few days I fell in love with it already. I cannot wait until it is complete (at which point these will auto level up to Uber Noms)
I can’t wait to see the finished product.
Alrighty then — today’s winners of Community Kudos are the baldy dudes. Congrats to Doc What, AlexPants, Cakesmith, ShiggyNinty and, of course, Blaghman. Well done for doing a cool thing guys!
Have a great long weekend everyone.
