She Doesn't Need To Look At The Screen To Win Soul Calibur

If there's a gaming equivalent to trick shots, not looking at the screen while playing would be one of them — and one that's all the more impressive when you're playing against another person.

Watching Kayane here — one of the top Soul Calibur V players in the world — defeat her opponent without actually looking at the screen is pretty amazing. The video description says that she used the crowd's facial expressions to gauge what she should do — so she's still reacting to feedback. It's just not coming from the game.

Holy nuts, this girl kicked ass!

She's good but not buying this whole 'looking at the facial reaction' thing. She's working off the sound. She's telling which way shes facing by when she first gets hit, then, she simply blocks, waits to get hit, keeps blocking, then launches into a few combos. Block, counter, block counter etc.

Well I think its matter of the pros can land 15 hit combos whereas normal players get 3 hits. So its just a matter of when she hits you she hits hard. Not that hard really.

Exactly so like I said she does that and then like you said she launches into major combos.

I used to beat my mates WITH MY EYES CLOSED all the time. No crowd to work off. Nothing special.
