The PS2 And PS3 Versions Of Kingdom Hearts Side By Side

HD versions of classic PlayStation 2 titles are all the rage these days, with everything from Resident Evil 4 to Shadow of the Colossus getting a new coat of paint. The newest in the long line of HD remasters is Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix, which includes Kingdom Hearts: Final Mix, Kingdom Hearts: Re:Chain of Memories and a compilation film for Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days.

The original Kingdom Hearts was first released back in 2002 to critical and commercial acclaim. By mixing Disney with Final Fantasy, it created a multiverse brimming with nostalgia which has gone on to spawn a series that is now seven games strong. But of course, a lot has changed in the way of graphics over the last decade — and HD 1.5 Remix provides a few gameplay tweaks as well.

To see how the original version of Kingdom Hearts on the PS2 and the HD version of Kingdom Hearts: Final Mix from Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix on the PS3 look side by side, check out the comparison video above.

Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix was released in Japan on March 14, 2013, for the PlayStation 3. It is scheduled for a Western release sometime later this year. As mentioned previously, it includes the high-definition version of Kingdom Hearts: Final Mix for the PS3. The original version of Kingdom Hearts: Final Mix was released in Japan on the PS2 in 2002.

Shame they didn't bother making new models. But as long as they fixed the camera I'll be happy.

they did, they did new renders on all characters, sora now has the movement he did in kh2 along with the Triangle button being the reaction like button. they've made this game more up to date.

I'm glad that we in Australia will be getting both KH: Final Mix AND Re:CoM

    Would prefer this on Vita

    Looks nice though :)

Looks good, though I hope there's going to be a demo so I can try it out.

Who cares what u guys think, just take money Square Enix and let me play it.

I used to think there wasn't much value in HD re-releases. But then I played a PS2 game for the first time in years... ouch my eyes.

Looks like when someone does a DVD to Bluray transfer, just polish up the video quality to make it shiny

I am a little confused. Is the HD remix the same game as the original Kingdom Hearts? If so, why are they releasing the portable games in addition to this instead of KH2.... seems odd!

It's because they're planning on releasing KH2 in the next ReMix game 2.5 alongside with Birth By Sleep and Re:Coded.
