What Will Ultima Creator Lord British Reveal When This Countdown Ends? [Update]

After the collapse of the MMO Tabula Rasa, Richard Garriott, otherwise known as Lord British, disappeared from the triple-A world. He started a mobile-focused company called Portalarium and other than the ambitiously named "Ultimate RPG", we haven't heard much from one of gaming's legendary figures... until now.

Yesterday, Garriott revealed a website called "Lord British Presents", though the only content on it right now is a ye-olde countdown timer. As I write this, five days and 14 hours remain before... whatever... happens.

OK, it isn't a complete mystery. Garriott shed the tiniest speck of light by posting the below image on Twitter.

Which strongly suggests something Ultima-related, or at least, involving the world of Sosaria.

Or it could be an RPG about Stonehenge's younger brother, Pebblehenge.

Update: The folks over at RPG Codex dug up this image, which points to the reveal being a Kickstarter for a game called Shroud of the Avatar: Forsaken Virtues. Now, that sounds Ultima-ery.

^Press-ready and full of quotables, no?

It is actually the Kickstarter campaign reveal for the Ultimate RPG....

Well, the website icon sure looks like it matches the logo for Ultimate RPG on that Portalarium product page. Are they TR-style logos glyphs on those monoliths?

Does anyone else automatically hear The Stones (not the old, wrinkled rock gods) when they see a standing circle of 8 monoliths? :P

Who cares the guy is a hasbeen. Move on

Screw moving on. Nostalgia is my ally, and a powerful ally it is.

The guy helped define the RPG genre as it exists today. Methinks a little respect has been earned, even if number 9 of his series was something of a shocker in the end (more due to producer interference than anything).

Blatant attempt at self promotion, that's what this is.
