   Too much bother, didn’t video. Is this a “check gear, reload savepoint, replay up to same place” thing? Meh.

      Worse, its a “run all the way back to an earlier section, get gear, run back to where you started, go into the building then out again, then repeat”. Very dull and the gear isn’t really worth the effort

   I didnt feel having good gear played a very big part in the game really.

      I found it was good for boosting your melee abilities (or at least that’s all I did with it). Other than that it was quite pointless.

         I loved the pants(?) that set enemies on fire when I leapt off a skyline. That was fun.

      Play it on 1999 mode. Gear like “reduce reload speed” “improve clip size by 50%” “enemies have a 60% chance of dropping ammo” “shield recharges faster” make a big difference.

   I fail to see the point. The game is easy on hard, I finished it without cheating. Haven’t tried 1999 mode, I doubt gear would help you.

      The melee gear to increase damage and crit with flame damage gives a super-amazing advantage to the battle against Elizabeth’s Ghostly Mother in 1999 Mode.

         Yeah maybe. I just used crows to distract and shot the boss. That convoluted “farming exploit” seems like cheating.

            I just used return to sender + shotgun, although I am a little guilty of resetting checkpoints when I got stupid gear like “increase speed on skylines”.

               I like the one that freezes your health bar when you eat something or use a health pack. And crows…..

               I used that for my whole first playthrough, it does kind of promote looting corpses mid-fight though which can be kind of problematic in terms of spacial awareness.

               Yeah. I did become desperate for a packet chips or a rotten banana there on a few occasions.

               Rotten bananas are my nemesis. They kept screwing up my “press a on everything” playstyle.

   People seem to really think the gear doesn’t do very much… I’m inclined to disagree. Some of the gear pieces give incredibly useful buffs, such as increased damage vs handymen, fire damage on jumping off rails, vampiric melee attacks, faster movement speed (dodging) and so on.
   You could definitely do without them… but particularly on the harder difficulty levels they add a lot.

   First i heard of farming gear for a game that just ends…unless this whole thing is in preparation for a coop DLC to be released and you can trade gear through steam trade…now that be interesting…

      It’s more like “farm gear so you can finish 1999 mode” – i dont think anyone should need help with hard.
