Behind The Scenes Of The Deus Ex Game Being Made In Australia

See this is interesting. Deus Ex: Human Revolution is — let’s be honest here — an old game to be porting across to the Wii U. Of all the games in the Square Enix catalogue, it feels odd that they’re planning to release that instead of, say, the latest Tomb Raider. I found the above video strange for a number of reasons, but the main one is this: in a three minute video discussing the ‘Director’s Cut’ of Deus Ex: Human Revolution, they spent roughly 10 seconds discussing the fact that it’s being made in Australia by Melbourne studio Straight Right.

It makes sense I suppose. The goal here is to make this version of Deus Ex: Human Revolution feel essential, like it’s much more than a port, that it’s the ‘ultimate’ version of the game — but that does a bit of a disservice to the people in Melbourne hard at work. The video focuses on the members of the original team just dropping buzz words, talking about how great the game will be on the Wii U. I would have loved to hear from some of the guys in Australia.

Regardless, it looks as though the game does some interesting things with the Wii U controller at least. Looks pretty cool.
