Demon Fusion In Shin Megami Tensei IV Looks Pretty High Tech (And Cool)

Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers isn’t out yet, but already I’m looking out to the horizon — and over to Shin Megami Tensei IV, which was recently confirmed for the US (and hopefully elsewhere). Here we have a clip from Siliconera showcasing what “demon fusion” will look like. There are lots of numbers and wireframes, which makes fusion seem kind of futuristic.

Demon fusion is a process in Shin Megami Tensei games which allows you to combine different demons to make a new one. You use demons to battle against foes in the games, and generally, fused demons are stronger than non-fused demons. You can typically skip the animation showcased in the clip above, but when it’s that cool, why would you want to?

There’s also a combat clip, and a demon negotiation clip, but these don’t look as neat. Mostly though, everything about this game is looking awesome.

The will release on the 3DS in the US sometime this winter and in Japan next month.
