   I’m reminded of the time a friend sent me a screenshot of an iOS game, and compared the spaceship-art on it to a screenshot from Star Trek Online, demonstrating that it was an exact copy. He had FOUND THEM OUT and now there would be hell to pay! He was angry! Very angry. How dare they STEAL like that, then make money of it? It’s not just illegal, it’s immoral!

   I had to gently point him to a few other games, such as the quasi-MMO which starts you out in Bloodfang armor from WoW, as a rogue, and explain that trying to stop these IP-thieves is like swatting at flies outdoors. On a dairy farm. The companies who own the intellectual property =do not care= unless they can be sure to get enough money to pay for the lawyers.

   Lawyers are expensive. I don’t know why. It seems to be because they tell us they should be.
