What A Hollywood Nausicaa Might Look Like…

Miyazaki’s Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind — or as I knew it as a kid, the butchered Warriors of the Wind — is one of the greatest animated films ever made. It’s also, despite the European influence on its inhabitants’ design, a very Japanese movie.

So it’s interesting taking a look at this personal project by Annis Naeem, a very talented motion picture concept artist (and done for a class at the Art Center College of Design), which gives the story’s characters a more contemporary, realistic look.

Love it. It’s very Star Wars. No. It’s very Battle for Endor. In a good way.
